Ecila Huste

Ecila Huste is a contemporary Brazilian artist whose work shows a deep connection with nature. She uses acrylic paint on large canvases, and also her own photographs digitally modified and printed on paper.

She has been active as an artist since 1981, and her work has been featured in several one-person and group shows in Brazil and abroad.

In her work, colors are always intertwining. In her own words, “There are moments in my painting process when I feel that brush, canvas, medium, myself and my surroundings are one. Nothing is separated and everything is important for the construction of this unity, so that one cannot tell where a color starts or ends”.

Her art education took place at Parque Lage’s School of Visual Arts, the Museum of Modern Art and the Center for Contemporary Art, all in Rio de Janeiro, where she lives.
